Adaptive Sled

December 2022

Skills Utilized: Milling, Lathing, Water Jetting, CAD, FEA, Jack Siemens, Design Process Workflow

Our team was sponsored by an individual with Dubowitz Syndrome, which affects his motor control and communication. His parents, however, enjoy staying active and get outdoors. Notably, in the winters, they enjoy taking walks through snow packed trails, and wanted to come up with a cost-effective way to have their son join them.

Our team reached out to the sponsors family with this context, and went through an intensive design process which included user requirements and engineering specifications, concept generation, concept selection, problem analysis and iteration, build design, and finally validation and verification (all of which are detailed in the final report which is linked at the bottom of this page).
